Plastic foreskin with phimosis: signs and methods of treatment

Phimosis - the narrowing of the foreskin Phimosis is a narrowing of the foreskin, as a result of which its mobility is severely restricted.

A sign of phimosis is the impossibility of exposing the head of the penis in any condition. That is, even with an erection, the head is not exposed and remains covered with the foreskin.

A prepuce (foreskin) is a fold of soft skin that covers the head of the male sexual organ. Such a fold is reminiscent of the structure of the eyelid tissue or female genital lips. Two leaves of flesh meet at the coronary sulcus. Also the foreskin is fixed by a bridle that allows to limit the shift of the foreskin to the base of the penis. During an erection, the preputium extends to the base of the penis, thanks to which the head is completely exposed.

In its normal resting state, the head hides in the foreskin and forms a preputial cavity. This function protects the head of the penis, so when a man at any age has a narrowing of the prepucium, they try to preserve this function and instead of cutting it is done a plastic of the foreskin with phimosis. Circumcision is resorted to in rare cases.

Phimosis can be of two types: pathological and physiological.

  • Physiological detect in children. In this case, the operation is not assigned. Doctors recommend to observe hygiene, from time to time to stretch the foreskin and be observed by a doctor. Pathological phimosis is treated by conservative methods or an operation is performed, which allows to eliminate this defect.
  • The mechanism of action is also hypertrophic and atrophic phimosis. At first, the foreskin becomes long. Such phimosis is usually diagnosed in overweight boys.
  • Atrophic is manifested by a narrowing of the foreskin, because of which it squeezes the head of the penis. As a result, the preputial orifice greatly narrows and does not pass the head.

Circumcision is often performed. Such an operation is performed under general anesthesia and lasts approximately half an hour.

  • • The foreskin is cut in a circle, while leaving the bridle. Next, the sheets of flesh sew threads. • After surgery, the urinary function self-heals. • Such an operation is performed at any stage of the disease. • Subsequently, the development of phimosis is completely excluded, since the prepuce is removed. • It is allowed to get up within a few hours after the procedure.

Some men do not want to be circumcised for various reasons. An alternative to this procedure is the operation “Plasticity of the foreskin” or, as it is also called, prepuchioplasty. This operation allows you to save the foreskin and release the head of the penis.

It is interesting

Plastic foreskin is a low-impact cosmetic procedure that is done on an outpatient basis. The whole operation is spent no more than half an hour.

Sterile wipes are applied to the penis, and everything is treated with an antiseptic. Before the procedure, the urologist gently opens the head and finds the narrowest part of the foreskin. There are marked with a special marker. This is where the cut will be made. Next, anesthetic is infiltrated into the preputium, the flesh is taken over the clamps and dissected.

Thanks to this procedure, the skin disperses and the head can open freely. After that, the sheets of the preputium are sutured with self-absorbing threads, a sterile dressing is applied to the incision site.

Important

Immediately after surgery, it is recommended to close the head so that postoperative paraphimosis does not develop. A day later, the head can be bare and impose a sterile bandage.

Another operation called metatoplasty allows to correct the narrowed urethra. It is used for complications of phimosis. The urethra is dissected and expanded, and its edges are hemmed to the edges of the penis head.

If the operation is carried out correctly, the risk of paraphimosis, hematomas and edema is reduced to "no."

Plastic foreskin with phimosis Plastic foreskin is considered a quick operation, but requires precise action and a lot of experience. Phimosis after surgery is not formed again, since the pathogenic tissue is removed.

During recovery, the patient may feel discomfort, but the pain is not strong enough to take painkillers. The main thing is to change the dressing every few days and ensure that it is always dry and clean. Stitches are usually removed on day 10, and you can have sex in 3-4 weeks.

Treatment of phimosis with a laser: features of the procedure

Treatment of phimosis with a laser is a photo-destructive method, which consists in excision of the prepuce and removal of the morphological substrate of pathology. The laser beam can get very hot. When it is applied to a specific place, it causes the tissue to vaporize. Such an operation takes only a few minutes, as the laser allows you to instantly burn damaged blood vessels. This allows the operation to be performed without loss of blood and not to injure nearby tissues.

Immediately after the operation, the man can go home. A thin crust is formed at the seam site, which will protect against suppuration and all kinds of infections.

Important

Laser treatment is considered a painless and bloodless operation, after which hematomas and edemas do not form.

During the month, any sex is prohibited, especially unprotected.

It is forbidden to use a laser if a man is diagnosed with paraphimosis or balanoposthitis. In this situation, it is recommended to normalize blood flow and only then get rid of phimosis. The use of a laser is considered to be a more gentle procedure compared to other surgical methods.

  • Non-pharmacological treatment of phimosis can be used only at an early age. In children older than 6 years, these methods do not bring the desired result.
  • To achieve this goal, you need long-term daily exercises. It is necessary to stretch the foreskin for a quarter of an hour in warm water.
  • Such procedures must be done daily for 2-3 months.

The scalpel is most often used for cutting, so it does not give such a cosmetic effect as a laser. A scalpel operation leads to heavy bleeding, and the postoperative period lasts about 30 days. There is also a risk of suppuration, inflammation and infection. After surgery, the patient feels severe pain, and blood can seep from the wound.

When using a laser, the patient feels almost no pain and recovers in just 3-4 days. Due to careful sealing, there are no open wounds, therefore the risk of inflammation and suppuration is reduced to zero. Laser can remove the remnants of the skin and mucous preputia to give the penis an aesthetic look.

Only the patient himself has the right to choose which method of phimosis treatment to prefer to him. The use of a laser makes the operation much easier and painless, and the forces recover in the shortest possible time.
