Fraxel: a description of the rejuvenating procedure

Fraxel Content:

There are many methods of rejuvenation and healing of the skin. Plastic surgery is increasingly being replaced by hardware cosmetology, the main criteria of which are painless, safe and effective procedures.

Fraxel (Fraxel) - an innovative hardware method of dealing with wrinkles and skin blemishes, quickly gained popularity in many countries around the world, including in Russia.

The essence of the method

Fraxel is otherwise called laser fractional thermolysis, which is used to effect the skin.

The procedure belongs to the group of hardware methods of negative influence on the dermis, that is, with the help of a laser, some skin cells are destroyed, as a result of which regeneration processes are launched. This technique can be compared with peeling of the upper layer of the skin, which removes dead particles and catalyzes the process of replacing old cells with new ones.

Abrasive and non-ablative lasers are used in Fraxel devices, the action of which is realized in the deep dermal layers, while the surface layer of the epidermis remains intact. During the procedure, point burns are applied with a fraxel at a depth of 0.3 to 1.6 millimeters, resulting in damage to the dermis cells.

The value of fractional thermolysis means that the light beam is divided into many microbeams, which allows to avoid serious injuries, and the effect on the dermis occurs evenly over the entire area. Thanks to the ability to choose the depth of the laser beam, the beautician can eliminate every specific problem with jeweler's precision - wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, pigmentation and other cosmetic defects.

After exposure to fraxel, thousands of microscopic patches of skin are damaged. This triggers the process of tissue regeneration, as a result of which the body begins to actively produce collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in the places of injury. Thus, the skin is evenly replenished with new, healthy cells.

Advantages of the method over similar procedures

Fraksel has a number of advantages that distinguish it favorably from other methods:

  • suitable for any skin type, as the beam is directed to the water structure of the cells, and not to hemoglobin or melanin;
  • the procedure is equally effective at any time of the year;
  • the risk of complications is minimized;
  • differs in the easy and short rehabilitation period;
  • eliminates many cosmetic defects;
  • It has a long lasting effect against wrinkles;
  • allows you to permanently get rid of scars , scars, stretch marks;
  • eliminates skin defects on different parts of the body - face, abdomen, back, arms, etc .;
  • guarantees a positive result.

Indications and contraindications for the procedure

Initially, a new method of fractional laser thermolysis was aimed at skin rejuvenation, but the wide possibilities of fraxel allowed it to be used to get rid of a wide variety of dermis defects, in particular:

  • wrinkles (shallow, deep);
  • melasma, hyperpigmentation, vitiligo, vascular dyschromia;
  • normo, hypo, hyper and atrophic scars;
  • enlarged pores and excessive sebum secretion;
  • various irregularities of the skin (striae, post-acne, keratosis, etc.);
  • flabbiness of the skin, photo-aging.

Despite the fact that Fraksel is a gentle procedure for rejuvenation, it is contraindicated in the following cases:

  • in the presence of cancer;
  • hormonal disorders;
  • during the development of acute infections;
  • dermatoses of the skin;
  • during pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • with mental disorders.

Procedure progress

Fractional laser thermolysis is performed in several stages:

  1. The skin is thoroughly cleansed with antiseptics.
  2. A solution or ointment with an anesthetic component, usually with lidocaine, is applied to selected areas of the dermis.
  3. After the local antiseptic begins to act, the skin is smeared with gel, which facilitates the sliding of the handpiece (handles) of the device.
  4. To remove wrinkles, the beautician performs a manipulation movement along the massage lines. Pigment spots, striae and other similar defects are eliminated by several movements in opposite directions.
  5. Upon completion of the laser exposure, a soothing cream is applied to the skin.

To achieve the desired effect, it is required to go from two to four Fraxel sessions, depending on the defect. Breaks between sessions are from one to one and a half months. One procedure lasts from twenty to forty minutes. Positive changes become clearly visible only two to four weeks after laser exposure to the skin.

Fraxel Re: store, pair and other types of fractional installations

The technique of rejuvenation using the laser system Fraxel Ball was developed by American experts in 2004. Since then, the first development several times passed the stages of improvement, as a result of which several types of frakselny installations appeared.

Different devices have their own characteristics of exposure to the skin, respectively, for each specific problem it is better to choose a certain kind of fraxel.

Fractional Laser

Types of fraksel

The work of existing Fraxel varieties is based on two principles of laser exposure to the skin:

  • photothermolysis, which provides an erbium laser with a wavelength of 0.4 to 1.4 millimeters;
  • ablation using a thulium laser having a longer wave reaching 1.92 millimeters.

During photothermolysis, cells are immersed in heat shock, as a result of which they are renewed. The ablation process is more aggressive, since the cells are destroyed physically, and in their place micro-wells are formed from evaporated cells, in which then the synthesis of a new tissue takes place.

Kinds of devices

  1. Fraxel Re: store is the most common laser facility operating on the principle of photothermolysis. Erbium laser is used to restore the skin after burns, remove pigmentation , hypertrophic and atrophic scars, enlarged pores, keratosis, post-acne, stretch marks.
  2. Fraxel Re: store Dual combines ablation and photothermolysis, since this device is equipped with two types of laser at once - erbium and tuleev. With this setting, you can effectively affect the various layers of the skin, eliminating many different defects. Universal fraksel equally easy to get rid of deep and fine wrinkles, stretch marks, pigmentation and scars.
  3. Fraxel Re: fine is equipped with an erbium laser with the shortest wave - up to 0.65 millimeters. It is distinguished by the most delicate effect on the dermis, therefore, it is used to eliminate defects on sensitive skin, for example, wrinkles on the eyelids or stretch marks on the mammary glands of a woman.
  4. Fraxel Re: pair provides the most aggressive effect on the skin. It helps to treat deep wrinkles, rough scars and stretch marks located in the lower layers of the dermis. The device perfectly aligns the skin, tightens pores, copes with vascular dyschromia.

Fractional laser: rehabilitation, side effects and reviews

Some methods of hardware cosmetology can be compared with plastic surgery, and sometimes even surpass it in a number of criteria. Fractional laser is one of the most successful hardware rejuvenation technologies.

The result of the procedure

After exposure to the laser, wrinkles disappear, the color and skin texture is smoothed out, scars, stretch marks and scars are eliminated. A distinctive feature of the procedure is a small rehabilitation period and the minimum number of complications. However, as well as after any similar procedure, it is necessary to follow a number of requirements during the recovery period.

Rehabilitation after the procedure

In order to avoid complications after the use of a fractional laser, simple rules should be followed:

  • avoid direct sunlight for a month (you can use a cosmetic product that protects from the sun);
  • stop using scrub during the first week after the fraxel session;
  • do not drink alcohol and stop smoking during rehabilitation;
  • for two weeks daily moisturize the skin with a cream;
  • be wary of taking new medicines.

Side effects

After laser exposure to the skin, unpleasant effects can occur, which usually disappear three days after non-ablative photothermolysis and one week after ablation. The patient may feel itchy, dry, tight skin. The areas of the dermis affected by the fractional laser become swollen and reddened. Among the most unpleasant complications are exacerbation of acne, hemorrhage of small vessels, erosion.

Cost and reviews

Fractional laser is widespread in Russia, so the frakselnuyu installation can be found in almost any large cosmetology salon. The cost of procedures depends on a number of factors - the size and severity of the defect, the type of apparatus, the number of sessions, the professionalism of the cosmetologist, the pricing policy of the clinic and some other indicators.

The price per session varies from 700 to 55,000 rubles. Clients who have resorted to the procedure using a fractional laser, leave mostly positive reviews. They note the high efficiency of fraxel with minimal side effects.

Opponents of this technique point to the high cost of the procedures, since in order to achieve the desired result, it is often necessary to pay four, five or six sessions. It is also necessary to take into account the type of fraxel, if it is ablation, then the recovery period, when the skin “burns” and itches, can take up to eight days, and this is not suitable for everyone.
