Electronic cigarettes can spoil the results of plastics

Huge popularity around the world continue to gain electronic cigarettes. This phenomenon has not bypassed the Russians: fans of the new hobby are ready to spend significant sums.

It used to be claimed that e-cigarettes are harmless and are an excellent alternative to regular cigarettes. On the eve of plastic surgery, smokers were asked to abandon regular cigarettes, but did not say anything about electronic ones.

Currently, surgeons recognize that electronic cigarettes can also harm the results of plastic surgery. The fact is that nicotine, which may be contained in a fluid for smoking, constricts blood vessels. In turn, less blood is delivered to the postoperative wounds, which significantly slows down the recovery process (and even scars can remain), reports the Journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons .

Experts say that the ban on smoking of conventional and electronic cigarettes should be imposed not only on the postoperative period, but also before the surgical intervention.
